Question of the Day

When Kenneth and Gloria started their journey of faith they had questions too—lots of them! So, we've compiled the most frequently asked questions by people like you—people who earnestly desire to find God's answers to the practical, real-life challenges of everyday living. It’s human nature to blame someone for troubles—it started in the Garden of Eden!

Sadly, for the most part, many Christians have been falsely accusing God of being the cause of their troubles. The No. 1 deception sown in the Church today is that our problems, our trials and our temptations are sent by God to teach us lessons.

This is absolutely against the Word of God. Why? Because the very basic principle of the Christian life is to know that God put our sin, sickness, disease, sorrow, grief and poverty on Jesus at Calvary. For God to put any of this on us now, to teach us or to strengthen our faith, would be a miscarriage of justice. To believe that God has a purpose for your sickness would mean that Jesus bore your sickness in vain. What an insult to His love, care and compassion toward you!

God is a good God. He is nothing but good. And just as you wouldn’t cause bad things to happen to your children to teach them something, God, who is far greater, doesn’t do so either.

Satan is the author of everything bad in this world. He has come to steal everything from you, kill anything he can get his hands on, and destroy everything good in your life. He is the opposite of God, who sent Jesus to give us life more abundantly (John 10:10).

Gloria Copeland says it best, “God doesn’t use bad things to teach us something. He uses His Word to do that.”
