The word luck does not appear in the Bible.
As Christians, we don’t live by luck—we are blessed, and we have the favor of God! Brother Copeland has shared that if you trace chance, tarot cards, lady luck and joker, the root word will be the same as it is for luck. Not surprisingly, the word luck seems to have been first popularized as a gambling term. As Christians, we must understand that we do not live our lives by chance or luck. Instead, we live by the Word and Spirit of God, which always lead us on a specific path to a desired end (Proverbs 3:5-6; Jeremiah 29:11).
God and His Word lead and guide us, not luck! So instead of wishing someone good luck, speak a blessing over them. “Be blessed!” or “I hope things go well for you!”
