Have you ever encountered what felt like a giant in your life? A problem of epic proportions? One that felt utterly overwhelming and left you thinking you had no way to overcome it? Giants can come against you in countless ways, but their No. 1 goal will always be the same: they are from the enemy and designed to intimidate you with fear so they can defeat you.
David faced a giant like that once. That giant’s name was Goliath, but David knew exactly what to do, because he had a covenant with God that came with power and promises—and so do you. Giants are no match for the resurrection power of God living on the inside of you. Whatever giant you are facing, identify it and find it in the list below; declare 10 Confessions To Defeat the Giants In Your Life and watch the giant fall.
Giant #1: Unforgiveness
Because God has forgiven me—over and over again—I freely and easily forgive others—over and over again. I forgive as many times as it takes—even 70 times seven. I am quick to forgive. I take no offense. I am so given to forgiving, that I don’t even notice offenses when they occur. I always think the best of others (Matthew 6:14, 18:22; Ephesians 1:7).
Giant #2: Flesh
I am God-inside minded, so much so, that I am fully aware that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. God lives big on the inside of me, so I see through the lens of His Word, His perspectives and what His Spirit guides me to do. I don’t allow my flesh to dominate me. I am led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:5-17; 1 Corinthians 2:16).
Giant #3: Sickness
I am healed. My body is healed. My mind is healed. Every organ functions as God created it to function. When I eat, my food is blessed, and it nourishes my body. I take God’s Word like medicine, and it is strength to my bones. I walk in divine health (Exodus 15:26; Psalm 34:19-20; Proverbs 4:20-24; 1 Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15).
Giant #4: Hate
God is love and He loves me. I imitate God and walk in love toward others. I love others like God loves them. I love unconditionally and faithfully. When people encounter me, they encounter the love of God. I speak the truth of God’s Word in love because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. The love of God controls and urges me (Ephesians 4:15, 5:1-2; 1 John 4:7-8, 4:16).
Giant #5: Ungratefulness
I give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for me in Christ Jesus. I don’t worry about anything; instead, I pray about everything. I tell God what I need and thank Him for all He has done. Because of that, I receive the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. His peace guards my heart and mind as I live in Christ. I choose to fix my thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely and admirable. I am God conscious and view my life through His perspective, being grateful in ALL circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18; Philippians 4:6-8).
Giant #6: Poverty
God gives me the ability to prosper. I am a tither; therefore the windows of heaven are open over my life and the devourer is rebuked. Blessings are pouring out. I have all I need today and every day—and more left over to give into every good work (Deuteronomy 28:13; Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:8-10).
Giant #7: Ignorance
God has made known to me all wisdom and spiritual understanding. In every situation, I know what to do because the Spirit of Wisdom lives on the inside me. He counsels me, shows me which way to go, what decisions to make, and where to spend my time. I am never without wisdom (Ephesians 1:8; Colossians 1:9).
Giant #8: Discouragement
I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. Therefore, I face every giant I come up against with the power of Jesus and in the knowledge of what His blood bought and paid for me. I rise up high above negative situations, seeing them for what they are—works of the enemy to throw me off course, discourage me, deceive me or defeat me. But I cannot be defeated, and I will not quit. I can’t because that’s not who I am—I am an overcomer (2 Corinthians 4:8; Revelation 12:11).
Giant #9: Fear
I have victory in every area of my life, particularly over fear. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. I am strong in spirit. I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might. I will not fear. When fear comes against me, I resist it in the Name of Jesus. I choose to put my trust in God (Psalm 56:3-4; 2 Timothy 1:7).
Giant #10: Failure
God is always at work in me, causing me to triumph. Overwhelming victory is mine through Jesus. The Lord commands the blessing upon me in my storehouses and in all that I undertake. He blesses me in the land which He gives me. His mercy and goodness follow me all the days of my life (Psalm 23:6; Romans 8:37; Deuteronomy 28:8).
