We have a goal – to walk in faith, not fear! Fear tolerated is faith contaminated—and contaminated faith grows weaker, never stronger. If we’re to keeping walking in faith—strong, pure, unfeigned faith—then we will have to encourage our faith daily. If we do, the devil will never be powerful enough to stand up to our faith. The truth is that he has no power of his own, but when we give fear place, we give him power. Without fear, he can’t get his hands on us or the affairs of our lives. So, to keep him out of our lives and all that concerns us, consider these 20 Confessions To Defeat Fear. Make them what you reach for the minute fear tries to take hold of you.
- God is Love and because I live in God, I live in Love and Love lives in me (1 John 4:16).
- God’s perfect love in me casts out all fear around me (1 John 4:18).
- Because of the love of God in me, Love Himself, I have authority over the devil and all his evil works, including fear (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
- I am God’s child. I have not received a spirit of bondage to fear, but a spirit of adoption. I am not an orphan, but child of God. He is my Abba Father and there is no fear in Him or me (Romans 8:15).
- God, who is Love, has not given me a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
- I have been given the mind of Christ; therefore, torment has no place in my mind. No matter what is going on around me, my mind is at peace (1 Corinthians 2:16).
- I have authority over the spirit of fear because I have authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
- I am more than a conqueror through God who loves me (Romans 8:37).
- My faith is working on my behalf because faith works by love, and Love lives on the inside of me (Galatians 5:6).
- Jesus broke the power of death. He destroyed the threat of death, and He has delivered me from being subject to the bondage of death. I am full of the Spirit of life (Hebrews 2:14; John 6:63).
- I do not have to be afraid or paralyzed with fear, for I have been redeemed. God has called me by name. I am His. When I pass through the waters, He will be with me. When I pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over me. When I walk through the fire, I will not be burned. The flames will not set me ablaze (Isaiah 43:1-2).
- Because I prayed to the Lord, He heard me, and He has delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4).
- If God be for me, who can be against me? Fear be gone, in Jesus’ Name (Romans 8:31)!
- The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble (Psalm 27:1)?
- God is my refuge and my strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore, I will not fear, even though the earth should change. Though the mountains be thrown in to the sea, though the ocean’s waters roar and foam, I will trust in God’s faithful love (Psalm 46:1-3).

He is my health. He is my strength. He has delivered me from all fear. I’m not part of the fearful; I’m part of the faithful. I’m not fear-filled; I’m faith-filled. I’m Holy Spirit filled. I’m the righteousness of God by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus didn’t come and shed His blood so that I could be filled with fear. He came, gave Himself and shed His blood, so I could be fearless, faithful and overpowering where death and the devil are concerned. Sickness is under my feet. Poverty is a thing of the past.
