God’s Loving Will For You

God is Love, He loves you, and He is always for you (1 John 4:16; Romans 5:8, 8:31). He’s good and He’s always working to get more of His goodness to you (Psalms 100:5; Romans 8:28). What’s more, the way we receive all that He has for us is by faith—by the faith He’s given to us (Romans 12:3). “I tell you,” Jesus said, “You can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

And yet, all too often, we forget all this and lean into our own strength—into our own willpower. We stop having faith in Love and begin to mentally believe—which is tapping into the power of our souls. God wants us to tap into His power. He wants us to accept His will and put our will in subjection to His. That’s when we’ll walk in the fulness of His strength and not our own.

If you’ve been praying and asking God to know His will, consider these scriptures that showcase God’s Loving Will for You…because knowing His will is not something God wants to keep a secret from us. “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore” (Psalms 16:11).

  1. It’s God’s will that you love God with all your being. “Jesus replied, ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind’” (Matthew 22:37).
  2. It’s God’s will that you love others. “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31).
  3. It’s God’s will that you be well. “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24)
  4. It’s God’s will that you prosper—spirt, soul and body. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2, NKJV).
  5. It’s God’s will that everything you put your hand to prospers. “…Obey the LORD and keep all his commands that I am giving you today. The LORD your God will then make you successful in everything you do” (Deuteronomy 30:8-9).
  6. It’s God’s will that you lack no good thing. “Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing” (Psalms 34:9-10).
  7. It’s God’s will that you walk in love. “Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God” (Ephesians 5:2).
  8. It’s God’s will that you flourish in the fruit of the spirit. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
  9. It’s God’s will that you be tenderhearted. “Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).
  10. It’s God’s will that you walk in unity. “Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future” (Ephesians 4:1-4).
  11. It’s God’s will that you walk free from sin. “Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living” (Romans 6:18).
  12. It’s God’s will that you freely forgive. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (Colossians 3:13).
  13. It’s God’s will that you gather with other believers. “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25).
  14. It’s God’s will that you have all the wisdom, knowledge and understanding you need. “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9).
  15. It’s God’s will that you continue growing and mature in Christ. “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God” (Hebrews 6:1).
  16. It’s God’s will that you be baptized in His Spirit. “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matthew 3:11).
  17. It’s God’s will that you live a long full life. “I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation” (Psalm 91:16).
  18. It’s God’s will that you be strengthened spiritually. “The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king” (Psalms 28:7-8).
  19. It’s God’s will that you walk in His truth. “I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth” (3 John 1:4).
  20. It’s God’s will that you trust in His love. “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them” (1 John 4:16).
