The truth is, God did not make angels and man imperfect. God created them to have a choice. And that is where the opportunity to choose against God entered in.

To fear God is not to be afraid of Him. In fact, 1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out fear” (NKJV). The Bible tells us hundreds of times to “fear not” because fear and terror come from the devil and cause torment (1 John 4:18). But the Hebrew translation for the word fear in reference to God means “to respect or reverence,” which is a very positive thing. 

Consider the following verses about the benefits of “fearing” the Lord.

1 Timothy 4:3-5 tells us that our food is made acceptable by the Word and prayer.

So, when you bless your food at each meal, take the time to do more than a quick, “Bless this food.” This is your opportunity to pray protection over yourself—to bless it and sanctify it, and pray against anything that would cause illness, in Jesus’ Name. If you’re at a restaurant, you can include a prayer over the people who will be preparing your food—that they’ll handle it correctly with wisdom. 

Our military today is the most outstanding United States military in the history of this nation. There’s never been another corps like them anywhere, anytime. They’re tough, and they’re committed. More importantly, they need our support.

There is only one God, but the Trinity refers to the three persons in the Godhead—the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Each One is wholly God—not just a part of God. And together, they are God in oneness. (See Matthew 28:19.)

Each Person of the Trinity has individual characteristics, yet none ever acts independently or in opposition to the others. The Old Testament writers had a word for the way God loves us—hesed. It is translated as “ever lovingkindness; tenderness; mercy.” Hesed is the force that rises inside someone, causing them to stand up for the benefit of another. Another way of saying it is that it’s the picture of having a Blood Brother. From God’s perspective, it might best be described using John 3:16: “For God so ‘hesed’ the world, that he gave his only Son....”
